The City Planning Commission was established by City Council as provided by the Ohio Revised Code and is responsible for reviewing all site plans for permitted commercial, industrial and multifamily uses, issuing conditional zoning certificates for all conditionally permitted uses and reviewing all land subdivisions.
The Commission is a five member panel consisting of the Mayor, Director of Public Service and three citizens appointed by the mayor and meets the second and fourth Monday of each month:
Proposed Zoning Text Amendments
On June 8, 2020, the Commission held a hearing and recommended that City Council adopt several zoning text revisions to the sign regulations. The proposed amendments can be viewed or downloaded from the links below.
City Council will now hold a public hearing on an ordinance to adopt the amendments. Council’s hearing has been set for Monday, July 21, 2020 at 5:00PM. For more information about this hearing, please contact the City Council Office at 330-335-2759.
Proposed Zoning Map Amendment
On June22, 2020, the Commission held a hearing and recommended that City Council adopt C-1 Neighborhood Commercial Zoning for City Lots 413 & 414 located at 221 Broad Street. These lots are owned by the First Methodist Church of Wadsworth and contain a parking lot. The current zoning of the property is R-4 Residential.
