Divisions
Wadsworth Police Department employees are assigned to one or more of the department's six divisions. Officers work primarily in patrol, administration, or the detective bureau and can also work additional specialized duty in K9 or SWAT.
Communications officers are assigned to the dispatch center and are also involved in SWAT operations as communications specialists or in other departmental services such as victim services.

Detective Bureau
The Wadsworth Police Department Detective Bureau is responsible for handling cases that involve extensive or specialized investigative procedures such as complex crime scenes, in-depth interviews, and certain serious criminal offenses.

Patrol Division
The Wadsworth Police Department patrol division is comprised of 18 full-time patrol officers, a patrol officer designated as a School Resource Officer (SRO) and 4 sergeants who supervise each of the three shifts.

SWAT
Today, WPD has four police officers and a communications officer on the Medina County SWAT team joining officers from MCSO, Medina PD, and Montville Township PD.
