Moment with the Mayor for November 9, 2018
Veterans Day Parade
On behalf of the Wadsworth community, thank you to all veterans and to those who currently serve in our military. We are so grateful for your courage and your commitment. The freedoms that we enjoy are made possible by your service. The Veterans Day parade will take place on Sunday, November 11, 2018, as the parade steps off downtown in front of the VFW at 10:50 a.m. Though it is a short parade, it is a meaningful way to honor and remember the brave men and women who have defended our country and who continue to do so, today. If you have a moment, please take time to stop downtown and join us.
Main Street Wadsworth Board
Main Street Wadsworth is pleased to announce an open application process for those interested in joining its active Board of Directors. The Board’s intention is to add up to three additional directors by the beginning of January 2019. Candlelight Walk
Make your way downtown to Wadsworth's Annual Candlelight Walk on Friday, November 16, from 6-9 p.m.! Join Santa and the Salvation Army at 6:30 p.m. as we light the downtown Christmas tree located in the gazebo. Enjoy the white lights outlining the downtown buildings, and the streetlights and luminaries that together, create a most beautiful ambiance. Horse-drawn carriage rides, a children's scavenger hunt, carolers, pictures with Santa, and much more will be offered by the downtown businesses and organizations! This kick-off of the Christmas season will continue the next day when singers from various Wadsworth churches will present Canticles in Candlelight (a Cantata for Christmas) by Joseph M. Martin on Saturday, November 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ. Come join us for this lovely start to the holidays!
Until next week……..
Mayor Robin Laubaugh
