Company to renovate and redevelop vacated facility, create 30 new jobs

CLEVELAND, December 14, 2017 – Imperial Machine & Tool Company has announced plans to renovate and redevelop a recently vacated Wadsworth manufacturing facility for its production of fluid ends, components used in hydraulic pump operations. The company, under new ownership, plans to bring 30 new jobs to the area over the next three years.

“We are excited to move forward with plans to re-establish the manufacturing operations in Wadsworth,” said David Stuller, chief financial officer of Imperial Machine & Tool Company and parent company Ariel Corporation. “The availability of a well-trained manufacturing workforce, and support from the state and local community were key factors in our location decision.”

The collaborative efforts of the City of Wadsworth, Medina County Economic Development Corporation, JobsOhio and Team NEO brought this support to light, as these partners encouraged Imperial Machine & Tool Company leaders to locate their new operations in Northeast Ohio. The vacated facility chosen by Imperial not only fulfills the company’s manufacturing needs but also is conveniently located near the management and resources of its sister facilities in Akron and Mount Vernon.

“Imperial Machine & Tool Company is held in high regard across the industries it serves. We are delighted that its leadership has decided to re-establish operations in Wadsworth,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler. “Our robust manufacturing network, from our workforce pool to our supply chain and logistics channels, will support Imperial at every turn. We look forward to working with the city of Wadsworth, Medina County Economic Development Corporation and JobsOhio to support their growth and success.”

Wadsworth Mayor Robin Laubaugh lauded Imperial Machine & Tool Company for choosing the city for this expansion project. “It is gratifying to have such a solid company join our growing manufacturing base and put a vacant facility back into production,” she said.

Bethany Dentler, executive director of the Medina County Economic Development Corporation, credits the collaborative efforts of the economic development team that worked with Imperial Machine & Tool Company. “With support from the state and the region, we were able to close this deal quickly and efficiently,” she said. “Medina County is thrilled to support Imperial’s job creation plans.”
