Moment with the Mayor for October 20, 2018
Medina County Business Awards
Medina County Economic Development Corporation recently recognized the Medina County Business Awards at their annual event. The categories included: Entrepreneur of the Year, Capital Investment, Business Growth and Outstanding Community Advocate. Wadsworth was well-represented in each group. Award honorees in the Business Growth category, which honors a Medina County company that has shown or averaged sustained growth in revenue and employment for at least five years, were Wadsworth companies: Things to Move, Inc., Lewis Land Professionals and Nagy’s Collision Center, The Village of St. Edward was named as award honoree in the Capital Investment category, which honors a business with a capital investment of more than $500,000 during the previous calendar year that has provided a sustainable increase in revenue and/or employment or has enhanced the community’s appeal by expanding, building or renovating a structure in the county. Bezlio-SaberLogic was named an award honoree in the Entrepreneur of the Year category, which honors a Medina County owned/operated business demonstrating substantial innovation in a product, production methods, market creation/development and/or demonstrating rapid growth or potential for significant growth. I am also happy to announce that Wadsworth resident Ron Paydo was named as this year’s Outstanding Community Advocate. Ron has volunteered in many organizations in Wadsworth and Medina, including the Medina County Community Fund, Medina County Port Authority, Salvation Army, Wadsworth Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Wadsworth. Ron has been involved with the Boy Scout organization and in youth sports as a coach, and Ron and his wife have fostered 90 children! Each of these awards is significant because they demonstrate that many businesses and individuals are achieving measurable success in an economic market/world that continues to be challenging in many respects. Congratulations to all!
