Complete a zoning permit application and submit it along with a site plan, an iaerial view of your lot (available at medinacountyauditor.org), or an accurate sketch showing property lines, existing structures and their setback from adjacent property lines; the location, dimensions and setbacks of the property deck. Applications for fence permits should show the location where the fence will be placed; fence height, material & style (privacy or solid fences vs non-privacy fences).
Building or structural plans will likely be required by the Medina County Building Department for sheds and other accessory structures which exceed a floor area of 200 sq.ft. As of 1/1/25, City no longer issues building permits for 1,2 and 3 family residential structures. All building permits (residential, commercial or industrial projects) are issued by the Medina County Building Department. Contact them at 330-722-9220 for more information regarding their registration requirements.

Typically, no permit is required to pave or repave an existing driveway. However, a zoning permit is required to expand a driveway (in length or width) of a driveway on private property. If the new driveway expansion extends across the sidewalk or involves widening the driveway apron (which connects the driveway to the street) a Right-of-Way (ROW) permit will also be required. ROW permits are issued by the Engineering Dept.
