Recently elected for the 2022-2023 term, Dan fills an At-Large position for City Council. He was appointed to serve on the Council’s Public Safety Committee.
Career & Education
Dan graduated from Lakewood High School and received a bachelor’s of Mortuary Science degree from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He has been working in Funeral Homes since the age of 14. He has worked in funeral homes of various sizes including serving as Manager of Operations for the largest single funeral home in the state of Ohio. For three years he was an Account Executive for Homesteaders Life Company which is a Pre- Need Funeral insurance company. His territory included all of North East Ohio from Steubenville to Millersburg on the southern border up to Lorain along the lake and down the PA border. In 2006 he and his wife Belinda, who is also a licensed funeral director and embalmer, purchased Hilliard- RospertFuneral Home.
Hobbies and Community Activities
Dan's hobbies include spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and most recently beekeeping. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of North East Ohio and is a former member and board member of the Wadsworth Rotary Club. He is currently a member of the Wadsworth Lions Club, a member of Wadsworth Lodge 385 F&AM, The Valley of Akron, and is involved in many other community groups.
In August 2015, he invited the Wadsworth City Administration, Wadsworth City Council, Wadsworth City School Administration, and the Wadsworth City School Board together to discuss the rising opiate issues facing the community. From that first meeting and several others that were held, the Wadsworth Drug-Free Community Coalition was born. It is now administered and run by the community members with tremendous leadership and guidance from the City Safety Director and the City School Superintendent.
Dan & Belinda have been married for 33 years. Together they have 2 sons: Daniel who recently graduated from The Ohio State University and Toledo Medical College and serving his residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center; and Thomas, a graduate at The Ohio State University, who is in his third year of Dental School at OSU.
