Legislative Update
Periodically we meet with our senators and representatives to be updated on pertinent issues in our area and did so recently at the annual morning breakfast with Congressman Renacci, Ohio’s 16th District Representative. Elected officials and community leaders, including those in the area of economic development, were invited to hear the latest initiatives and frustrations regarding tax reform and health care. It is always interesting to learn more about what our legislators are doing on our behalf. Congressman Renacci also reminded us that his office has many resources available to those in the 16th district, such as veterans who are dealing with challenges relating to filing claims with the VA for health and pension benefits. Those looking for help with social security benefits, Medicare and disability information may contact his office locally, too. Help and information is also available for immigration and passports, the IRS, Washington, DC tour requests, federal student loans, the Federal Trade Commission (identity theft, Do Not Call Registry and obtaining annual free credit reports) and Youth Programs (military academy nominations, Congressional Awards, etc.). The Wadsworth District Office is located at 1 Park Center Drive, Suite 302 in Wadsworth, OH, and may be reached by calling 330.334.0040. You may also visit the Congressman’s website at Renacci.House.Gov for educational events and informational seminars.
Until next week……
Mayor Robin Laubaugh
