Moment with the Mayor for April 21, 2018
New Clock Downtown
Main Street Wadsworth is excited to announce the installation of a beautiful new clock on the square, downtown. The unveiling ceremony is planned for May 4th at 4:45 p.m., before the May First Friday event. The clock’s red and black colors are striking, and in combination with a vintage face, will add to the beautification and character of the downtown area. Thanks to generous donations made by a few special individuals, this remarkable addition was acquired. Mark your calendars for Main Street’s First Friday “May the Fourth be with You” event on May 4th from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., and see downtown’s newest addition!
Community Shred Event
The City of Wadsworth is hosting an on-site community paper shredding event for residents on Saturday, May 12, from 9:00 – noon, in the parking lot across from City Hall, behind the Huntington Bank. No cardboard, metal, hard plastic or three-ring binders will be accepted; but, staples, paper clips and rubber bands are not a problem. Those participating will be asked to drive up and unload material from their cars into bins, with assistance from the attendant on duty if needed. It’s perfect timing for spring cleaning!
Creatively Tagged
Creatively Tagged Boutique, located in Downtown Wadsworth, boasts a large selection of gently used upscale goods, clothes, and household accessories that will appeal to both men and women. It was developed by Medina Creative Housing to create a retail opportunity that would enhance the community and create a great vocational opportunity for students and other individuals with disabilities who are served by Medina Creative Housing. Medina Creative Housing currently provides jobs for more than 60 students and adults in property maintenance and construction, coffee production, manufacturing, barn and horse management and at its hydroponic greenhouse, doggie day care and spa, and cafes at the Lodi Hospital and Brunswick Library. Clothing for all ages, purses, jewelry and household furniture are among the many items available. Creatively Tagged employs six or seven people, giving them the opportunity to earn an income, build skills, and give back to the community, according to their CEO. Coffee is another item sold within the store, featuring the flavors of Medina Creative Living Coffee. The Creatively Tagged Boutique has also had a regular presence at the Wadsworth Farmers Market, where coffee is served and produce via Medina Creative Produce is available to purchase.
