City crews will be working in the following areas picking up leaves ...
hospital area
north of the bridge
West Street from Simcox south to College and west of West Street from Simcox Ext. south to College
With completion of the above areas, the 2010 Fall Leaf Pick-up for the City
of Wadsworth is NOW OVER.
Call the Transfer Station at 335.2847 for pick-ups (3rd Tuesday of each month).
LEAVES MUST BE BAGGED & TAGGED.
November 28th was the last day
that residents could place leaves at the tree
lawn and be assured that City crews will pick them up.
Beginning November 29th, the City will make one final pass, after which residents will be required to
bag the leaves with a green sticker and call the Transfer Station (335.2847)
for pickup.
REMEMBER ...
Leaves should only be raked to
the tree lawn, where City employees will remove them at the appropriate time.
DO NOT rake leaves into the street where they can cause a number of
serious hazards:
flooding and damage to City storm sewers
basement flooding as storm sewers get clogged
traffic dangers as drivers swerve to avoid leaf
piles, slide on the leaves or run into the piles
possible fires when leaves come in contact with auto
exhausts
children tempted to play in the leaves could find
themselves in the path of traffic.
DO NOT put sticks, brush, ornamental grasses, roots, flower stalks
or large solid objects in with the leaves – they clog the machines and cause
damage and costly delays
LEAVES ON THE TREE LAWN WILL NOT KILL GRASS – though the lawn sometimes loses
some color as it goes dormant, it will perk right back up in the spring
