Ohio crews head home from Kentucky after nearly two weeks
After nearly two weeks of providing mutual aid assistance to
Madisonville, Kentucky Amp-Ohio
crews headed home on February 16, 2009.
Madisonville’s municipal electric
system services approximately 8,500 customers and nearly all of them were
without power went the storm ended. Madisonville
is in western Kentucky.
On February 2, Hamilton
and Piqua each sent two crews to
aid in the repair efforts, while Bowling Green,
Napoleon, Tipp City,
Wapakoneta and Westerville each
sent one. Piqua Tipp
City and Wapakoneta rotated in new
crew members at the end of the first week, while the other five crews work
through the entire period.
