BLOCK PARTY, SPECIAL EVENTS & PARADE PERMITS :

• issued for special events to event sponsoring organizations for special events in the downtown business district
• issued for parades
• required for closing any part of any street
• issued for block parties

   BARRICADES/CONES

1. After approval of the permit, the Street Dept will be notified as to the date and location of the event.
2. The Street Dept. will drop off the proper barricades at the intersection or house requested, on the day of the event or the day before.  For weekend events, the barricades will be dropped off on Friday and picked up on Monday , during regular business hours.
3. The Street Dept  will pick up the barricades at the location where they were dropped off on the day after the event (on a regularly scheduled  work day).
4. The person requesting the event is responsible for the erection of barricades and removal to the pick-up point, after the party is over.

DOWNTOWN VENDOR PERMITS:

• limited to the following locations:
  1. on sidewalks and in parking lots, if the streets are not closed
  2. on sidewalks, parking lots, and traffic lanes, if streets are closed to traffic
  3. NOT permitted at any location left available for the use of emergency vehicles

• issued for vending during special events for vending on public right of ways and public parking lots in the downtown business district
• requires approval from the sponsoring organization of the special event
• if the vendor will be in the public right of way, requires approval from the owner of the land adjacent to the proposed vendor location (the store owner, if a sidewalk location)
• all property of the vendor(s) shall be removed from the location by the time of expiration of the permit
