Permit Information/Inspection Scheduling 330-335-2753 Fax 330-335-2715 TheCity of Wadsworth Building Department is the permittimg and inspecting agency for all 1, 2 & 3-family residential construction within the City limits. Residential construction in Wadsworth township, or other surrounding areas, as well as multi-family and commercial/industrial projects are under the jurisdiction of the Medina County Building Department. Please note that many of the procedures that do not require a building permit do require a zoning permit. The application forms for residential building and zoning permits as well as electrical and HVAC permits, may be obtained from the Building & Planning Department during regular business hours. Commercial/Industrial/Multi Family Permits Building Permits, Sprinkler Permits and Inspections for all Multi-Family, Commercial and Industrial Construction are under the jurisdiction of the Medina County Building Department - (330-722-9223). However, site plan approval and/orconditional zoning aprproval for these uses must be obtained from the City Planning Commission before the county will issue building permits. Electrical and Heating Permits Electrical and Heating Permits are obtained at the Building Department, Application may be made by mail. Ohio Building Codes Online Information For New Homebuyers or Builders Before purchasing a new lot or existing home, it is advisible to know the zoning district in which your property is located, the minimum setbacks and if there are any public or private easements on your property. Zoning setbacks and easements may affect the placement of future building additions, decks, detached garages, storage sheds, swimming pools, fences or other structures. The builder, seller or realtor should be able to provide you with this information, but they may not if you don't ask first. Property encumberances such as easements, will be shown on the final subdivision plat. Copies of recently platted subdivisions are viewable at the City's Building & Planning Departments or the MedinaCounty Recorder's Office.
