Regular Collection Service:
The City of Wadsworth provides Solid Waste collection and disposal services for the residents of the City and surrounding Twp. The City provides a 96 gallon wheeled cart for residential waste. Carts are to be placed near the street after 7:00 PM the night before collection.
The Sanitation Department services carts at night to avoid traffic, school children and parked vehicles.
Carts must be removed from the collection area by 7:00 PM the day of pick up. The Sanitation Crew works every day, including holidays, except Christmas day. All household refuse, trash, and garbage are to be placed in the cart, as only what is in the cart will be picked up. Poisons, acids, caustics, explosives, hot ashes, yard waste, paint, soils, building materials, or any other dangerous or hazardous material are not to be put into the carts.
Does the City of Wadsworth have a recycling program? All solid waste collected by the City's Sanitation Department is taken to the Medina County's Central Processing Facility in Westfield Township where recyclables are manually and mechanically removed from the waste stream. It really is an amazing process, visit their website http://www.sanitaryengineer.co.medina.oh.us/cpf/index.html Glass bottles and jars can be taken to the glass igloos located on the north side of the Great Oaks shopping center parking lot.
