The City of Wadsworth Water Treatment Plant is located at 365 Broad Street in Wadsworth. This department operates and maintains the Water Treatment Plant to provide a safe drinking water service to the City’s customers and works to ensure water quality control measures meet or exceed state and federal regulations on safe drinking water.

The current Water Treatment Plant was built in 1974 and put into service in 1975. The plant was designed for a capacity of 3.0 million gallons per day. The plant is completely automated and is operated 24 hours per day by State certified plant operators. Our plant operators are required by the state to attend refresher classes every year to maintain their state certification.

The city uses 12 different wells for our drinking water source. 8 of these wells are deep sandstone rock wells approximately 250 feet deep. we also have 4 shallow sand and gravel wells approximately 75 feet deep. By using wells for our drinking water source, our water has the same quality characteristics year round.
